JAZZ FOR KIDS is the result of
Lisa Yves' dedication to making
music exciting, innovative and fun
for her young students. After
graduating from NYU's School of
Music as a vocal jazz major, Yves
began creating lyrics for classic jazz
melodies and altering existing lyrics that
might be inappropriate for children in order
to create new material for her students.

A singer, songwriter and musician whose own love of music began at an early age, Lisa Yves played regularly in New York City's clubs and bars — once performing with Harry Connick Jr.— and began teaching music. Yves, who organizes annual concert recitals to showcase her students' work, performs this material live and plans to create additional volumes. Lisa is offering clinics and workshops in schools to teach kids, teachers and parents about jazz. She teaches rhythm, history, and vocal stylings through jazz repertoire.
